Nation’s Top 12U Baseball All-Stars Take on NYPD’s NY Finest Team

in an All-Stars Skills Competition Next Friday in Manhattan

The Eastbay NYBC All-Star Barnstorming Bus Tour Hits New York City

Wharton, NJ (Thursday, Sept., 29, 2011) – Fourteen of the nation’s most talented 12-year-old baseball players will take on the NYPD’s famed NY Finest baseball team in an All-Stars Skills Competition taking place next Friday, Oct. 7 from 1:30-3 p.m. ET at the Roberto Clemente State Park in the Bronx.  The youth players will be in New York City on the first stop of a multi-city tour for the 2011 Eastbay NYBC Barnstorming Bus Tour. The 14 youth all-stars were selected from the 12U 2011 New Era National Youth Baseball Championships (NYBC), a national tournament comprised of eight of youth baseball’s biggest organizations with almost six million players in leagues across the nation.  In addition to the skills competition, the players, who come from cities across the nation, will spend time visiting NYC’s landmarks and take a special tour of the MLB Network studios and the Yogi Berra Museum.

The Barnstorming Bus Tour organization will also be making a donation of equipment and apparel to the NYPD’s NY Finest president and team members to help assist with the team’s out-of-pocket costs. The NY Finest is a non-profit organization and receives no outside funding to support their many competitive and charitable activities nationwide. The official presentation will occur at the close of the All-Star Skills Competition on Friday, Oct. 7.
