New
York's Finest baseball Club which has a Non for profit status, consists of 30 New York City Police Officers
who work in various communities throughout the city. NY
Finest Baseball members come together as does a family, where there is
no rank on the field. We are a tight knit Bunch with one common goal. To
enjoy ourselves playing the sport we love and helping others anyway we
can. In the past we have traveled to various states and countries.
We have played other Departments such as Houston,
Chicago, Las Vegas Metro, Los Angeles, San Diego, Tucson, Columbus Ohio,
and other various police and Fire
departments across the country.

Lost to The Colonie Knights 8-3 in the AA Championship game.

After losing 5-3 to the Colonie Knights in game one ( which snapped
a 16 game winning streak) the Finest got back on track winning
three straight games. NY Finest defeated fellow NYCMBL

everyone who came out to Keyspan Park to show their support.
FDNY had won the last 4 charity games and has not lost to the
Finest since 2003. This year, NY Finest broke that streak. The
Finest scored often, pounding out 12 runs as starting pitcher
and Game MVP Kevin Gieras held the bravest bats in check.
Shortstop Ruben Cardona led the offense with 3 hits.
Dave Mischo and Chris Waye each collected two hits. Julio
LaSalle and Clemente Sosa both pitched a Scoreless inning in
relief. The Finest win 12-2. More information including
pictures of the event coming soon.

Did You Know? The Famous interlocking New York Yankee
logo was created in 1877 by Louis B. Tiffany for a medal
to be given by the New York City Police Department to Officer
John McDowell, the first NYC policeman shot in the line of duty.
Because one of the club’s owners, Bill Devery, was a former NYC police
chief, thedesign was adopted by the New York
Highlanders who in 1903 became the New York Yankees.
In
1968 - 1972 the NYPD Baseball team was known as the Blue Coats. The Blue
Coats were the first NYPD Baseball team since the team dismembered in
1950. With no
team for 22 years, in 1994 New York's Finest Baseball was
born. See Team History for more on NYPD Baseball.
