New York's Finest baseball Club which has a Non for profit status, consists of 30 New York City Police Officers who work in various communities throughout the city. NY Finest Baseball members come together as does a family, where there is no rank on the field. We are a tight knit Bunch with one common goal. To enjoy ourselves playing the sport we love and helping others anyway we can. In the past we have traveled to various states and countries.   We have played other Departments such as Houston, Chicago, Las Vegas Metro, Los Angeles, San Diego, Tucson, Columbus Ohio, and other various police and Fire departments across the country.
In, 2008 New York's Finest Baseball Club will participate in two local amateur Men's Baseball Leagues. During the week the team could be found on the ball field at the Parade Grounds in Prospect Park where the team participates in the Parade Ground League (PGL). On weekends, NY Finest will participate in the New York Metro Baseball League (NYCMBL).  NY Finest will use Poly Tech University's Baseball Diamond at Floyd Bennett Field also in Brooklyn . Floyd Bennett field complex houses the NYPD Drivers Training Unit as well as the NYPD Aviation unit.

The Team has big plans in 2008. Besides playing locally, NY Finest will participate in Several Charity Events and National Tournaments. The Team will travel to Miami, Florida in Late March for spring training playing Teams such as Coral Gables Police Department and Miami Police Department. June 20th the team will head north to Glens Falls, NY to play the Glens Falls Golden Eagles of the CBL. We Will Host our 4thAnnual Anthony Vazquez Memorial Tournament in New York City July 23-26, where Police a Fire Department Teams from across the country will attend. New York's Finest also have plans on attending the 2008 Western States Games in Boise Idaho as well as the Columbus Ohio Public Safety Tournament in September. The team is also working on a free children's baseball clinic during the summer. We can't forget the big rivalry game vs. FDNY at Keyspan Park August 8, where New York's Finest and Bravest square off each summer. The 2008 New York's Finest Baseball Journal will be given out prior to the game. This year there will be a Firework display following the game.

Anyone interested in being an official sponsor of the  NY Finest Baseball Club can visit the Donation Page where you could donate to the team or purchase an ad in the 2008 journal through Pay Pal or call  (212) 414 -7743 for more information. Be sure to visit the team store as new NY Finest Baseball items become available.

NY Finest Team Logo

Did You Know? The Famous interlocking New York Yankee logo  was created in 1877 by Louis B. Tiffany for a medal to be given by the New York City Police Department to Officer John McDowell, the first NYC policeman shot in the line of duty.  Because one of the club’s owners, Bill Devery, was a former NYC police chief, the design was adopted by the New York Highlanders who in 1903 became the New York Yankees.

Wade Boggs with NYPD Mounted Unit
In 1968 - 1972 the NYPD Baseball team was known as the Blue Coats. The Blue Coats were the first NYPD Baseball team since the team dismembered in 1950. With no team for 22 years, in 1994  New York's Finest Baseball  was born. See Team History for more on NYPD Baseball.
